Chania, Greece, 2-5 July 2024 – The AquaSPICE Summer School was successfully held in Chania, Greece, gathering international experts, project partners, and industry representatives for a week of insightful lectures and networking.

The event started with an engaging InfoDay session organized in collaboration with Water Europe, introducing the AquaSPICE project along with insightful presentations from representatives of six prominent EU projects: CARDIMED, ULTIMATE Water, AccelWater, IntelWATT, CSSBoost, and EU. The interactive session, moderated by Andrea Rubini and George Arampatzis, facilitated valuable exchanges of experiences, achievements, and challenges related to sustainable water management.

In the afternoon session, Sarah Müller provided a comprehensive overview of the latest industrial wastewater technologies available for effective water treatment, enriching the participants’ understanding of innovative solutions.

The day concluded with a networking dinner, further strengthening collaboration among AquaSPICE partners.

The following day continued with Andrea Rubini’s insightful discussion on the role of Water-Oriented Living Labs in addressing local water challenges. Anita D’Agnolo Vallan shared valuable perspectives on transformative leadership and systemic change management, while Johann Poinapen highlighted how the circular economy approach can unlock significant value from wastewater.

Lectures and interactive sessions continued throughout the week, focusing on innovation and knowledge exchange to advance sustainable water management solutions.
