Project structure

WP1: Water Efficiency Enhancement Applications Framework and Baseline Assessment.

WP1 will formulate the scientific, institutional/regulatory, industrial and commercial background for the development of AquaSPICE technological innovations, with an aim to satisfy the requirements of Process Industry actors/stakeholders and technology providers.

Leader: KWR
WP4: Digital Twin with Smart Analytics and Cognitive Services for Water Efficiency.

WP4 will develop the ‘Cyber’ part of WaterCPS, aiming at the holistic virtualization of all water-related processes of the entire physical system, which includes the factory’s production elements and its water and other resources’ reuse loops, the product value chains and any existing or potential external water reuse loops (symbiotic, CE).

Leader: TUC
WP7: Solution Uptake, Replication, Up-Scaling and Exploitation.

Overall WP7 objective is to ensure the uptake of the AquaSPICE offerings and support the replication and upscaling of the demonstrated solutions.

Leader: STRANE
WP2: Industrial Water Saving, Recovery, Treatment and Re-use Technologies & Practices.

WP2 will specify and configure the best & most feasible practices and treatment technologies for each particular CS; deploy technological & operational settings in the case studies on the basis of pilot installations; determine the optimal design and operational procedures, protocols, requirements & constraints for technology application; and develop an Evidence Database with real practices on industrial water recycling and reuse.

Leader: RWTH
WP5: Water Cyber Physical System: The Industrial Water Efficiency Management System.

WP5 will develop the WaterCPS Platform, integrating its “Cyber” (virtual, digital twin) part, developed by WP4 to the Physical system, i.e. the factory’s production system enhanced with the application of water saving/recycling/ reuse practices and technologies, as well as the Real-time Monitoring Platform, which is both an (new, added) element of the physical system and a “glue” between it and the cyber part, enabling their communication.

Leader: MAG
WP8: Communication, Dissemination, Training and Social Awareness.

WP6 objective is the evaluation of AquaSPICE offerings against the scenarios and requirements set by the case studies.

Leader: ICCS
WP3: Real-Time Water Efficiency Monitoring Platform for the Process Industry.

WP3 motivation is to design and implement a Real-Time Monitoring Platform (RTM) for water efficiency and quality assurance in process industries.

Leader: EUT
WP6: Demonstration and Evaluation of AquaSPICE Solutions.

WP6 objective is the evaluation of AquaSPICE offerings against the scenarios and requirements set by the case studies.

Leader: ICCS
WP9: Project Management, Quality Assurance and Reporting

WP9 will pursue the coordination and management of the Project through careful planning and internal communication procedures, activity planning, financial management/reporting, technical & administrative coordination to guarantee coherence, organization of meetings, centralisation of project findings and reporting.
